Dear Carles Margarit, I have been searching in vain for a Transcription of Dextor Gordon’s Misty Live at the Village Vanguard 1963-1964! I absolutely love Dextor’s sound. I have been practicing it by ear although there is a lot to absorb! I married a woman who plays the piano and got inspired to play after 30 years in the case. Recently I had my Tenor Mark 6 Selmer re-padded and the sound is awesume! I am studying jazz improvisation at sixty one and my intension is to master it this time.
Will you be able to help me with a transcription of Dextor’s Misty? With the aid of audio I’m working on reproducing the way he plays it.
I love the ballads also of Ben Webster. Particularly his rendition of ‘Somewhere over the Rainbow’ and ‘My one and Only Love’. I would also love to purchase these as well. I played John Coltranes rendition of my one and only love at our wedding.
Of course I would like the transcription in B flat to accommodate my tenor sax.
Thank you for listening, sincerely, Patrick Werrell/New Jersey.
